Wine Paradise at Santo Wines

So one of the main things i kept reading you MUST do in Santorini is go wine tasting

Santo Wines came highly reccomended not just because of the stunning Caldera view but also because of the wine variety and the knowledge of the staff.

I booked for us to do Santo Flight 1, which included a tour of the vineyard and factory followed by a tasting of 4 wines and nibbles, Louis isnt a huge wine drinker so i didnt feel there was much point doing a extensive wine tasting; we arrived at Santo wines a little late..
(we had trouble finding it as it is located on a one way road which our sat nav could not understand!)
However the wonderful staff were so accommodating and we joined on to the next tour, the tour lasted roughly 30-40 minutes and was so informative particularly when they explained about the special way they weave the grape vines to keep the grapes close to the ground because of the wind ect and this is what makes the wine taste so different as it is close the soil that is volcanic. After the tour we were taken to our seats which overlooked the Caldera and its stunning view, after my extensive research i had discovered that Santo Wines is one of the best sunset spots in Santorini.... and it did not disappoint, as the sun started to set the sky just lit up it was so magical and to get to enjoy some fantastic wines at the same time made i one of my favourite memories of Santorini, we could have sat there all night; before leaving we went in to the shop to buy a few bottles of wine that we had enjoyed to keep in our room for the week and the staff were amazing with recommendations and allowing us to sample other wines, i honestly can not praise Santo Wines if you have time even just to pop in for a glass or two of wine do it!

But be warned you may have to increase your suitcase allowance.. we ended up taking £100 worth of wine home with us because we loved the wine so much.
